Firstly, contact the patients GP and inform them of the death so that you may obtain a white medical certificate.  Once the doctor has been you may contact your funeral director to collect your loved one. We would suggest that you nominate one member of family to undertake the funeral planning which will eliminate confusion.

Once GP has confirmed the death and issued the white medical certificate, you will need to take the white medical certificate to your local Registrar of Births, Deaths & Marriages.

When registering the death with your local Registrar you will need to inform them whether you wish to bury your loved one in this country or whether you want to bury them abroad – outside the United Kingdom e.g. Bangladesh, Turkey, Pakistan etc.
